Nicole Owens, M.S.

Nicole Owens, M.S. has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Nicole currently works as a Senior Clinical Scientist at ONO PHARMA USA, INC. since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of an Assistant Coach of the Synchronized Skating Team at Essex Blades and the Head Coach of the Synchronized Skating Team at Princeton University in 2021 and 2019 respectively. Nicole also worked as a Skating Instructor at their own business as a Self-employed Figure Skating Instructor since June 2012.

Nicole has also worked as a Clinical Scientist at Advanced Clinical from July 2021 to January 2023 and at AbbVie as a Clinical Scientist (Allergan/AbbVie) from November 2018 to July 2021. Nicole started their career at AbbVie as a Clinical Trial Assistant in July 2017.

In addition, Nicole has experience in the field of synchronized skating as the Manager of Synchronized Skating at Figure Skating in Harlem, Inc. from November 2015 to December 2017. Nicole was responsible for managing a staff of 6 coaches, 3 synchronized skating teams, and 65 athletes, as well as handling administrative team logistics, budget management, and event planning. Nicole also developed and directed the Synchro Summer Camp.

Furthermore, Nicole has worked as a Research Intern at Columbia University Medical Center's Cognitive Neuroscience Division of the Taub Institute from October 2016 to May 2017, where they recruited participants for aging and memory research. Nicole also served as a Researcher and Medical Illustrator at Rutgers University in 2015, creating hand-drawn neuroanatomical illustrations with digital overlays for reference in a cognitive psychology textbook.

Nicole then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Rutgers University from 2011 to 2015. Following this, they attended Teachers College, Columbia University, from 2015 to 2017, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience and Education.

In 2019, Nicole furthered their education by obtaining a certificate in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School Online. In 2021, they earned a certificate in Population Health from Rutgers School of Public Health. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Public Health degree in Population Aging at Rutgers School of Public Health, which they are expected to complete in 2022.

Alongside their academic achievements, Nicole has also obtained several certifications. In 2012, they became a member of the Professional Skaters Association (PSA), and in 2017, they became Safesport Certified through the U.S. Center for SafeSport. Additionally, they have been a member of the US Figure Skating Association since 2005 and achieved the Double Gold Medalist status in MIF & Ice Dance Test. Nicole also holds a Mandated Reporter certification in NYC, obtained in November 2015.
