Alexander Malcolm

Alexander Malcolm has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Alexander most recently worked at OnScale, an Ansys Company, as a Senior R&D Engineer starting in October 2022. Prior to that, Alexander worked at Veracity from December 2020 to October 2022 as a Software Engineer, specializing in .NET and Blazor development. At Veracity, they contributed to the development of a microservice-based framework called SUPL (SecUre Platform Layer) for system and device integration.

Before joining Veracity, Alexander worked at OnScale from January 2018 to November 2020 as a Software Developer. Alexander was responsible for developing various applications, including a desktop application written in C++ and Qt, a user-facing CloudAPI utilized in cloud interactions with the desktop application, and an in-house tool for CAD geometry conversion into BREP using C++ and Docker.

Prior to that, Alexander served as a Software Developer at PZFlex from July 2016 to December 2017, where they initially worked as a contracted developer before becoming a full employee. Additionally, they worked as a Contractor Developer at Steely Glint Games Ltd for a short period in 2016.

Alexander also has experience as a Cyber Security - App Development Intern at Glasgow Caledonian University from November 2015 to June 2016. There, they developed an iOS and Android app in collaboration with various organizations, including the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise.

Lastly, Alexander started their career as a Counters Assistant at Sainsbury's from July 2010 to November 2015, where they provided excellent customer service and maintained high food safety standards, primarily at the Butchers and Fishmongers counters.

Alexander Malcolm attended Glasgow Kelvin College from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained an HNC in Computer games development. Alexander then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Games (Software Development) at Glasgow Caledonian University from 2013 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, Alexander holds certifications such as "CyberSecurity Awareness Training" obtained from ESET in November 2019. Alexander also completed the "Student Leaders Programme - Advanced Level" offered by GCU Students' Association in June 2016.
