Michael Beare

Michael Beare is an accomplished professional in the field of policy, currently serving as an Advisor in Strategic Policy at the Ontario Energy Board since July 2021, following a role as Senior Advisor for Consumer Policy and Compliance. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Energy, focusing on electric vehicle charging and smart grid projects, and as a Policy Coordinator at the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, where efforts were directed towards enhancing commercialization for startups. Previous positions also encompass a Senior Policy Advisor role at the Ontario Ministry of Energy, where the development of an electric vehicle grid strategy was key, and a tenure as Senior Economist at the Ontario Ministry of Finance. Additionally, Michael Beare worked as a Business Consultant for the MaRS Discovery District, supporting life sciences startups. Educational qualifications include an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business at York University and an Honours degree in Economics from Western University.
