Melissa Prokopy

Vice President, Policy and Advocacy at Ontario Hospital Association

Melissa Prokopy has extensive work experience, primarily in the healthcare sector.

Melissa started their career at the Ontario Hospital Association in 2005, where they took on various roles. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as a Legislative Advisor, providing expertise in legislative matters. Melissa then moved on to the position of Senior Legislative Advisor from 2009 to 2013. In 2013, they briefly served as the (Acting) Director of Policy Legislative and Legal Affairs before becoming the Director of Legislative, Legal & Professional Issues from 2014 to 2021. In August 2021, they were promoted to the role of Chief, Legal and Policy Issues, and in February 2023, they were promoted again to the position of Vice President, Policy and Advocacy.

In addition to their work at the Ontario Hospital Association, Melissa Prokopy has also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at the IHPME, University of Toronto from September 2018 to August 2021.

Currently, they are also a Faculty member of Law and Ethics at the IHPME, University of Toronto, starting in September 2022.

Melissa Prokopy's education history includes two institutions. From 1997 to 2001, they studied Kinesiology at McMaster University. Following that, from 2001 to 2004, they pursued a degree in Law at the University of Windsor.
