Andrew Ngai

Andrew Ngai has a diverse range of work experience in software engineering and teaching. Andrew most recently worked as a Backend Software Engineer at Onward since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Good Money from 2020 to 2022. Andrew also worked as a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) and Software Engineer (Full-Stack) at Acorns from 2018 to 2020. In 2017, they worked as a Software Engineer at Nike. Andrew started their career as a Front End Software Engineer at Kelley Blue Book in 2015, where they contributed to building enterprise-grade React/Redux/Node single page applications and collaborated with engineers to set best practices. Before entering the tech industry, Andrew also gained experience as a Lead Teaching Assistant and Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where they streamlined teaching curriculum and led biology lab courses for undergraduate students.

Andrew Ngai's education history begins in 2008 when they enrolled at UC Santa Barbara. From 2008 to 2012, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Aquatic Biology/Limnology. During that time, from 2008 to 2010, they also studied Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography at the University of California, Santa Cruz. After completing their undergraduate studies, Andrew Ngai continued their education at UC Santa Barbara. Andrew earned a Master of Arts degree in Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology from 2013 to 2015.
