Wind Turbine Engineer

The Role

ONYX Insight is a growing technology and engineering organisation in the renewable energy sector. Our advanced sensing, software and machine learning products are deployed on wind turbines around the world.

We’re looking for a Field Engineer to join our UK team. This is a chance for the successful candidate to expand their skills & experience in the Renewable Energy industry by delivering a technical consultancy service to wind farm operations and maintenance.

What you’ll do

• Asset integrity inspections, including on offshore wind farms

• Sensor installations on wind turbines (condition monitoring systems)

• Project management larger sensor installation projects using subcontractors

• Support failure analysis and other consulting projects with field engineering

• Prepare customer reports from engineering projects

What you’ll have

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering subject

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical roles in industry (mechanical or electrical)

• Good communication and presentation skills - ability to prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentations

• An interest in hands-on aspects of engineering. Eager to learn about wind turbine technology and the wind industry in general

• Ability to work on-site and at height in wind turbines, both onshore and offshore.

• Works effectively to deadlines with minimum supervision; strong problem-solving skills; collaborates well with colleagues regionally and globally

• Fluency in English both written and spoken. A second European language is also desirable (Spanish, German, French)
