Janna Peterson has a diverse work experience. In 2022, they became the Director of Outreach for OOTify. In 2020, they became the Entrepreneur In Residence for Oakwood University and the Founder/Executive Director for HBCU Seed Foundation. In 2019, they became a Board Member for HUNTSVILLE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS INC. In 2014, they became the Executive Director for 57 North Hampton, where they successfully developed and lead a fairly unconventional non-profit that uses fun and play as its primary means of educating children and teens on building and maintaining mental health and coping strategies. In 2010, they became the Creative Director for KnottyandNice.org, where they successfully assisted in the launch of a natural hair consulting firm catered to the “girl-on-the-go” and hosted events for clients like Huetiful and Jane Carter.

Janna Peterson attended Oakwood University from 2005 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing with a field of study in English Language and Literature/Letters, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts with a field of study in Communication and Media Studies.
