Anssi Okkonen

Anssi Okkonen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Anssi started their career as a Thesis Worker at Rautaruukki Oyj in 2008. Afterward, they worked as a Business Development Manager at Wishfi Inc., and later as the President of EMEA at Wishfi Europe, where they specialized in targeted media delivery technologies for ISP's.

In 2010, Anssi joined Deloitte as a Senior Consultant in Strategy & Operations, focusing on consumer and market strategies for clients across various industries. During this time, they delivered projects related to strategy, due diligence, transformation programs, operating model design, and value impact analyses.

Subsequently, Anssi held positions at Sanoma as the Manager of Strategy and then as the Head of Sanoma Lab and New Business Development. In these roles, they were responsible for managing internal venturing units, overseeing internal ventures, and evaluating investments and acquisitions.

Anssi joined Finnish Baby Box Oy in 2014 as a Founding Father. The e-commerce startup, offering a maternity package for parents-to-be, was later acquired by Reima. In the same year, Anssi also worked at If P&C Insurance as the New Digital Business & Innovation Manager, responsible for new insurance ventures, digital strategy, and partnership management.

Most recently, Anssi has been working at OP Financial Group since 2017. Anssi initially served as the Program Director for Digital Insurance and Head of OP Nano Insurance, where they managed the business, technology, and platform development of the born digital insurance service. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Emerging Business & Internal Ventures at OP Lab, overseeing internal ventures related to emerging new business opportunities such as B2B2C insurance services, retail lending services, and facial recognition payments.

Anssi Okkonen attended Pohjois-Tapiolan lukio from 1999 to 2002. Anssi then went on to study at Helsinki University of Technology from 2002 to 2009, obtaining an M.Sc in Material Sciences for Electronics, International Business, and Corporate Strategies.
