Pia Hannukainen

Pia Hannukainen's work experience includes various roles in design, customer experience, and research. Pia is currently a Professor of Practice at Aalto University. Prior to that, they worked at OP Financial Group, where they held positions such as Head of Design and Principal CX Strategist. Pia has also worked as a Lecturer at Aalto University Executive Education Ltd and as a Board Member and Founder of Human Sciences in Strategy. In addition, they have experience as a Founding Partner at Riihi and as a Researcher at Aalto University. Earlier in their career, they held roles at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Nokia Research Center, Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, and KONE.

Pia Hannukainen obtained a D.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Product Development and Innovation Management from Aalto University in 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Lic.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Product Development and Statistics from Aalto University in 2012. Pia also holds an M.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Product Development, Chemistry, and French from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, which they completed from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, they completed a Product Design and Development course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004. Pia also pursued various subjects at different institutions, including Physics, Chemistry, Economics, and French at the University of Jyväskylä from 1997 to 2001, Portuguese at Universidade de Aveiro in 2000, Physics at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in 1998, and they graduated from Kastellin lukio with a Matriculation examination (High school diploma) in 1997.
