The OpEd Project
Amy Perras is an experienced educator and coach currently serving as a Fellow at The OpEd Project since February 2023. With a long tenure at Oak Lawn Community High School since June 2002, Amy has taught English, Speech, and Drama, while also contributing as a Tennis and Swim Coach, an Alt Ed Night School Teacher, and an ACT Prep Teacher/Private Tutor. In addition, Amy runs Perras Scope, LLC as a Clarity and Identity Coach and authored the book "Ain’t Gonna Be No Stupid Woman: Propelled Into Purpose After Narcissistic Abuse." As a Fellow with the Chicago Area Writing Project and previously with the National Writing Project, Amy has dedicated efforts to writing and teaching throughout a diverse career that began after earning a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a Master's degree in Secondary School Administration/Principalship from Azusa Pacific University.

The OpEd Project is a social venture and leadership organization, founded to change who writes history. We are a community of journalists, thought leaders, and change agents who actively share knowledge, resources, and connections across color, creed, class, sexuality, gender, ability, and beyond. Through our nationally-recognized curriculum, our team of journalist mentors, and through a portfolio of programs in partnership with leading institutions across the nation and the globe, we accelerate the ideas and impact of underrepresented voices, including women of all backgrounds. We have been covered by most major media. We have stunning results.
