Working in the Flight software Team

The flight software team is the powerhouse of Open Cosmos’s satellite flight software and on board processing. We provide various support around the business in these key areas getting in on the action relating to bids, product, flight ops and customers.

What will you be doing?

You will be both designing and building software, taking it through the full SDLC, as well as leading and managing the flight software team with a focus on engagement and motivation to enable team productivity.

This is a great role for anyone who wants to take a step into management whilst still keeping a hand on the techy side! 

What you need to be successful

• You’ll be responsible for a team of software and FPGA engineers so be ready to motivate and develop them through their careers
• We work with both agile and V-model so applied knowledge of these are essential!
• As we said, this is still a techy role so you’ll need:

Ability to programme in C and rust languages

• Knowledge of Linux and Kernel architectures
• Knowledge of electronics design elements (SPI, I2C, CAN bus, Ethernet, Spacewire, PCB Design)
