Working in the People Team

We provide support to the business through the whole employee life cycle focusing on keeping the OC team highly engaged and attracting high calibre people to our open roles.
What will you be doing?
This is a very active role where no 2 days are the same!
You will be an integral part of the business, making sure our office runs productively, safely and smoothly, becoming the “go to” contact and being responsible for its maintenance and improvement. This will include co-ordinating and monitoring health and safety compliance, first aid and fire warden training, supporting team days and activities to keep our Open Cosmonauts motivated and making sure the team has everything they need to do their jobs effectively - from technical equipment to supplies and, of course, snacks!
The day-to-day administrative tasks will also cover working across all functions and supporting your colleagues with travel arrangements, event coordination, and being the first point of contact for any shipment that comes in and goes out of Open Cosmos. You will organize and manage the logistics and shipments of those between company sites and also supporting in sending our satellites to launch sites.
This role is a great opportunity to join the exciting and growing sector which is the small-satellite world.
What you need to be successful
Communication - You'll be communicating with both internal and external stakeholders a lot of the time, so having great communication is a must!
Attention to Detail - From completing procurements to shipping high value satellites globally, you will need to show diligence in all areas and hence having great attention to detail is a must.
Fast paced - As you will be responsible for purchasing products and services with a fast turn around, you’ll know how to keep cool under these circumstances while still delivering to a high standard.
A proactive self-starter - There’s an immense need for being proactive and juggling different tasks, so having the right attitude to work is really important.
Independence - At times, we’ll need you to take initiative and work independently. Of course, we’ll always be around to support you but we encourage you to be a driving force within your team!
Analytical - You’ll be an analytical thinker who’s able to communicate metrics, including costs and delivery timelines effectively.
Health & Safety - You'll have strong applied knowledge of health & safety ensuring we stay compliant. NEBOSH certifications would be a big advantage but not essential!
Tech Savvy - You’ll need to be comfortable working in Word, Excel and PowerPoint - even better if you’re familiar with G-Suite.
