Alonso Cerdan

Acting Director, Country Support at Open Government Partnership

Alonso has over 18 years of experience in the fields of transparency, accountability, open government, and public management. He currently leads the Open Government Partnership(OGP) work in the Americas and the design and deployment of rules, guidance, and other general services for all OGP participating countries. Before joining OGP, Alonso worked at the Mexican Ministry of Public Administration where, among other projects, he coordinated the co-creation of two open government action plans working with civil society organizations and government agencies. Earlier, as a co-founder of the civil society organization GESOC, he pioneered evidence-based advocacy work and focalized transparency. Alonso holds a BA in Public Administration from El Colegio de Mexico and an MPA from Manchester University where he was a Chevening and Conacyt fellow.
