Professor Kate Auty

Professor Kate Auty is an accomplished academic and environmental leader currently serving as Principal Adviser at the Kaiela Institute and Co-Chair of the Open Government Forum within the Open Government Partnership. Since January 2023, Auty has been a Steering Group member for the Women's Climate Congress and is an active subscriber with the Victorian Rural Women’s Network. As a member of Farmers for Climate Action and EuroaConnect, Auty advocates for climate action and improved regional infrastructure. Auty holds longstanding affiliations with the University of Melbourne, including roles as Honorary Professorial Fellow and Chair of the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute Advisory Board. Auty's experience also includes chairing the Environment Protection Authority Victoria and contributions to various advisory boards and networks in environmental governance and policy. Auty’s educational background encompasses degrees from prestigious institutions, with a Doctorate in Law and significant qualifications in environmental science and corporate governance.
