Hisao Yamasaki

Director, Licensing, Northeast Asia at Open Invention Network

Hisao Yamasaki has had a long and varied career in the tech industry. Hisao started out as President of Senlicas Limited in 2010, then moved on to become President of RPX Asia Corporation in the same year. In 2011, they became a Professor of Intellectual Property at Osaka Institute of Technology. In 2013, they became the CEO of Syndefense. In 2016, they became President of Unified Patents Asia, where they worked to reduce NPE/Patent Troll litigation and costs. In the same year, they also became General Manager of the Strategic Planning Office of Society-Academia Collaboration at Kyoto University. In 2018, they founded and became CEO of GenoConcierge Kyoto, and also became Vice President of Licensing at LOT Network. In 2019, they became CEO of RADDAR-J and Director of Licensing for Northeast Asia at Open Invention Network.

Hisao Yamasaki received their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Doshisha University between 1982 and 1986, specializing in Intellectual Property Law. Hisao then attended the University of Miami School of Law, where they obtained their LL.M. in Laws in 1993 and 1994. Finally, they received their Master in Laws from UCL in 2004.
