Leo Lahti is an experienced academic and industry professional currently serving as an Executive Committee Member at CODATA since October 2023. Holding the position of Professor and Principal Investigator at the University of Turku since September 2016, Leo leads the Turku Data Science Group. As an Associate Professor and member of the Bioconductor Advisory Board, Leo contributes to R/Bioconductor initiatives. Board memberships include roles at Open Knowledge Finland and Turku City Data Oy, alongside serving as a Scientific Advisor for Blueprint Genetics. With a background as an Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Wageningen University focusing on computational modeling of microbial ecosystems, Leo has also coordinated Open Science initiatives and held postdoctoral research roles in various institutions. Leo holds a Doctor of Science in Technology from Aalto University and additional degrees in mathematics, engineering physics, and political sciences.
