James Rilett

James Rilett has over 17 years of work experience in the energy and commodities markets. James started their career in 2004 as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, where they earned the ACCA accounting qualification and received an Outstanding Contribution Award and bonus in 3 consecutive quarters. In 2007, they joined Liquid Capital Group as a Derivatives Trader, where they helped to hire and integrate a 9-strong team within 9 months and select and prove market access solutions to six global exchanges. In 2008, they founded UnivEx Holdings Ltd and raised capital to generate significant returns for the investment vehicle over 4+ volatile years in the commodities cycle. In 2013, they joined Minerals Value Service as CEO, where they opened a London office, recruited and developed a research and business development team, and implemented procedures and processes to regulate and QA the collation of 18,000 individual data points. In 2015, they joined S&P Global Platts as Senior Director of Innovation & Digital Strategy, where they headed up a portfolio of commercial projects while growing the innovation practice in London. In 2021, they joined Distro Energy as Board Advisor and Interim Chief Executive Officer, where they focussed on growing Distro Energy from idea to hackathon to joint project to spin out and finally, independence. Finally, in 2022, they joined Open Mineral as Chief Product Officer.

James Rilett's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in International James'story from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) which they completed between 2001 and 2004, followed by a Professionally Exam Qualified degree from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) which they completed between 2004 and 2007.
