Itzy Ramirez

Itzy Ramirez has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to 2016. They began their career as an Undergraduate Student Assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso, where they worked from July 2007 to April 2009. Following that, they interned as a Graphic Design Intern at Cultural Vistas from July 2011 to September 2011. In October and November 2011, they volunteered at WBAI 99.5 FM- Pacifica Radio.

Their professional experience continued at Avon, where they worked as a Freelance Production Designer in April and May 2012. During this time, they created an animation video to train sales representatives on placing orders through the web portal and developed a website promoting Latina culture and entrepreneurship. They also collaborated with software developers to design and implement a memory card game on the site to increase product knowledge and sales.

In 2014, Itzy joined YouBeauty.com as a Digital Designer, and they stayed until October 2015. In this role, they were responsible for rebranding the website and creating a consistent brand style guide. Additionally, they designed successful advertising campaigns for brands like L'Oréal, Strivectin, and Neutrogena. They also implemented a process to embed pop culture gifs into the CMS, which increased user engagement and viewership.

Their most recent work experience was at Open Road Integrated Media Inc., starting in March 2016. They held the position of Marketing Design Assistant and conducted user research to create a price comparison feature for finding affordable books. They also played a key role in redesigning the Early Bird Books landing page and establishing an efficient system for collaborating with software engineers.

Itzy Ramirez completed their Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Graphic Design from The University of Texas at El Paso. Itzy attended the university from 2003 to 2009.

In 2019, Itzy Ramirez enrolled at General Assembly to pursue a User Experience Design program. Itzy completed the program in 2020.

Additionally, Itzy Ramirez obtained certifications in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) from the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) in March 2021, and in Conducting Usability Testing from the Interaction Design Foundation in June 2020.
