Alexandre Passos

Alexandre Passos is a skilled technology professional with a strong background in machine learning and natural language processing. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since January 2023, Alexandre previously held the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google from January 2014 to January 2023. Alexandre's academic journey includes a Master's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where work was conducted under the guidance of Andrew McCallum, and a PhD program at UniCamp, advised by Jacques Wainer, with a focus on machine learning. Additional experience includes research internships at Google and Microsoft, where contributions were made to large-scale distributed systems and recommender systems, respectively. Alexandre holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal da Bahia, awarded in 2008.
