Chengdu Huang

Chengdu Huang is a skilled technical professional with extensive experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since April 2024, Chengdu previously co-founded and held the position of CTO at BorderX Lab from 2015 to February 2024. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Architect and Senior Staff Engineer at VMware from 2012 to 2014, and Head of Engineering at Pattern Insight from 2008 to 2012. Additional roles include Software Engineer at Google from 2007 to 2008 and Graduate Student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2005 to 2007. Chengdu holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
