Pritam Damania

Pritam Damania is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and distributed systems. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since October 2024, Pritam previously held the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer in the ML Infra team at Tesla from January 2023 to September 2024. At Meta, from July 2018 to January 2023, Pritam worked as a Software Engineer and Tech Lead on the AI Platform, significantly contributing to PyTorch and its distributed capabilities. Prior experience includes a Software Engineer role at Yugabyte, focusing on core distributed database components, and a Software Engineer and Tech Lead position at Facebook, where Pritam was instrumental in founding the Express Wi-Fi project and contributing to the development of HBase and HDFS. Pritam also has experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Google, improving user statistics computation for the Android Market. Pritam holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
