Rami al-Rfou

Rami Al-Rfou is a seasoned professional in the technology and research sectors, currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since August 2024. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Staff Research Scientist at Waymo from March 2021 to August 2024 and Staff Research Scientist at Google between June 2015 and March 2021. Rami's earlier positions include a Research Intern at Microsoft, Research Engineer, and Software Engineering Intern at Google, as well as a Teaching Assistant at Middle East Technical University. Rami's involvement with IEEE included serving as Branch Mentor and Student Branch Chairman, and previous experience also includes software development at Jovision and significant contributions to the We are All Jordan Youth Commission. Rami holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Jordan.
