Yuchen Zhang

Yuchen Zhang is currently a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since July 2023. Prior to this role, Yuchen Zhang was a Staff Software Engineer at Google from June 2017 to July 2023, contributing to the development of the Core ML Distributed Runtime for high-performance distributed training and inference with TensorFlow and JAX, along with enhancing performance and resource efficiency for large language and embedding models. Yuchen Zhang also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan from August 2014 to May 2017. Yuchen Zhang holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from the University of Utah (2009-2014) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics from Peking University (2005-2009).
