David LeBard

Scientific Software Director at OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences

David LeBard has extensive work experience in scientific software development and molecular dynamics simulations. David is currently the Scientific Software Director at OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences, where they lead the development of scientific software. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Enhanced Sampling at the same company.

Before joining OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences, David worked at Schrödinger as a Senior Scientist in the DESMOND/FEP+ group. David was responsible for developing backend code for GPU Desmond, utilizing C++, CUDA, and Python. David also worked on scientific projects aimed at enhancing the performance of molecular dynamics simulations.

David has also held academic positions, including Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Yeshiva University and Postdoctoral Fellow at Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. During their time at Arizona State University as a Graduate Research Assistant, they performed protein electron transfer research and developed massively parallel MD trajectory analysis software.

Throughout their career, David LeBard has demonstrated expertise in scientific software development, molecular dynamics simulations, and enhancing performance in computational chemistry.

David LeBard earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from Arizona State University. David also pursued a Bachelor's Degree in German Language and Literature at the same institution. Later, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from Arizona State University as well.
