Suhani Nagpal

Lead Application Scientist at OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences

Suhani Nagpal has a diverse work experience in the field of computational chemistry, molecular biophysics, and biology. Suhani is currently working as an Application Scientist in Computational Chemistry at OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences. Prior to that, they worked as a PhD Candidate at the University of California, Merced, where they focused on protein folding and protein design research. Suhani also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, leading computational lab sessions and achieving excellent evaluation scores. Suhani has also worked as a Senior Research Fellow in Computational Molecular Biophysics at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR), where they contributed to research on protein folding and interactions. Additionally, they gained experience as a Research Intern in Discovery Biology at Syngene International Limited, working on a Pfizer project, and as a Biology Intern in the Analytical Department at Ranbaxy, where they performed drug assessments using HPLC and practiced good laboratory techniques.

Suhani Nagpal has a diverse education history. Suhani started their academic journey at Salwan Public School in Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi, India, where they completed their primary and secondary education from 2000 to 2007. Suhani then pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology at Jaypee University of Information Technology from 2007 to 2011.

Suhani furthered their studies by pursuing a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology at the same institution, Jaypee University of Information Technology, from 2011 to 2012. After completing their M.Tech, they continued their education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Merced, from 2016 to 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Suhani also obtained two certifications. Suhani completed the course "Introduction to computer science and programming using Python" offered by edX in July 2015. Furthermore, they obtained a certification in "Fundamentals of Music Theory" from Coursera in August 2014.
