Chris Barber

Chris Barber has a strong background in technology and management roles. Chris started their career in 2006 as an IT Director at STW Inc, where they served until 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as an IT Manager at the City of Decatur. Then, they returned to STW Inc as an IT Director/Consultant from 2011 to 2016, before being promoted to Chief Technology Officer/Chief Information Officer in 2016 and serving until 2019. Since 2019, they have been working at OpenGov Inc., first as the Director of Engineering and currently as the Director of Product Management.

Chris Barber attended the University of North Texas from 1998 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree in Applied Technologies. Chris then pursued further education at Frederick Community College from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Emergency Management. In addition to their formal education, Chris has also obtained various certifications, including "Managing Technical Professionals" from LinkedIn in January 2020, and certifications in A+ IT Technician, Continuity of Operations Practitioner, Emergency Management - Professional Development Series, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Network+, Security+, Server+, and Solution Advisor - Cloud Computing Architecture from various institutions.
