Akshay Shah has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Akshay currently holds the position of Executive Director, Product Management at OpenInvest. Prior to this, they worked at FreeWheel as the Senior Director and Director of Product Management, where they were responsible for managing the client-facing API endpoints and ensuring a consistent client experience. Before FreeWheel, Akshay worked at Diageo, where they completed the Leadership Development Program and held roles as a Business Analyst & ScrumMaster and Solutions Architect. Akshay successfully launched a cloud-based Trade Promotion Management system and developed SFDC architecture for the NA Distributor Collaboration Portal. Akshay also has experience as a Software Engineer at Backchannelmedia, an IT Consultant for a private Real Estate office, and as the Web Development Lead at Boston Virtual Imaging. Akshay started their career as a Research Assistant at Boston University School of Medicine, working on biomedical research projects. Akshay's work experience reflects a strong background in product management, leadership, and technical expertise.

Akshay Shah obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Boston University in 2006. Akshay then earned a Master's degree in Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Strategy and Business Analysis from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University in 2012. Prior to their university education, they attended Danbury High School from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, they pursued non-degree courses in Calculus at Western Connecticut State University in 2001 and Chemistry at the University of Connecticut from 2000 to 2001. In terms of certifications, Akshay acquired several, including Product Management from Cornell University in 2023, Foundations, Focus, Pricing, and Launch from Pragmatic Marketing in 2016, ITIL Foundation v3 from PEOPLECERT Group in 2013, and Six Sigma Green Belt from the Boston University Questrom School of Business in 2012.
