Enxiao Luan

Hardware Engineer at OpenLight

Enxiao Luan has held various positions in the engineering field since 2015. In 2016, they were an Engineering Intern Student at Luxmux Technology Corporation, where they prototyped packaged silicon dies and reduced fabrication costs. Enxiao also served as a Teaching Assistant for the on-line course Silicon Photonics Design, Fabrication and Data Analysis at edX. In 2017, Luan was a Project Engineering Intern at SiDx, Inc. and in 2019 they were a Software Engineer Intern at Lumerical Inc. In 2020, Luan was a Researcher/Silicon Photonics Design Engineer at Huawei and in 2021 they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of British Columbia. Currently, they are a Hardware Engineer at OpenLight.

Enxiao Luan has a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC) Electrical and Computer Engineering, obtained in 2020. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology in 2015. Enxiao also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the same institution in 2013. In addition, they have obtained three certifications: an Active Silicon Photonics Fabrication Workshop from CMC Microsystems in 2018, an Instructional Skills Workshop from the University of British Columbia in 2017, and a Passive Silicon Photonics Fabrication Workshop from CMC Microsystems in 2016.
