Chris Bacon

Chris Bacon has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies. In their most recent position at Openly, they served as the Chief Operating Officer since May 2020, overseeing various departments and leading the operational launch of the company. Prior to that, they held the role of Chief Customer Officer, where they ensured the successful launch of Openly and managed the claims, customer experience, and underwriting & billing organizations.

Before joining Openly, Chris worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance for several years. Chris held leadership positions such as VP & Head of GCM East | West Claims Excellence and AVP & Managing Director, Global Claims Center of Excellence. In these roles, Chris led teams focused on improving claims operational strategy and results. Chris partnered with C-level executives across global operations to develop and implement new operating models, improve local processes, and enhance accountability.

Earlier in their career, Chris gained experience in analytics and sales operations. Chris served as AVP & Sr. Director, Advanced Analytics, leading a team focused on providing complex analytical support to executive leadership. Chris also held the position of Director, Field Sales and Customer Service Analytics, where they managed a team responsible for strategic and operational sales and customer service analytics.

Before joining Liberty Mutual, Chris worked at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Adviser & Registered Client Associate, at Patriot Insurance as a Staff Accountant, at Old Port Advisors as a Research Analyst, and at ING as a 401k Plan Specialist.

Chris Bacon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Economics from Saint Anselm College, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Chris later pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine - School of Business between 2004 and 2005. In terms of additional certifications, Chris obtained the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from The Institutes CPCU Society in January 2007. Chris also became an Insurance Agent for Health, Property, and Casualty in September 2018, certified by the State of MA DOI.
