Kate Pond

Kate Pond has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to the present. Kate is currently working at Openly as a Senior Software Engineer since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Allen Institute for Immunology as a Software Engineer II from March 2020 to September 2021. Kate also worked at Allen Institute as a Software Engineer from November 2019 to March 2020. Before transitioning to software engineering, Kate gained experience as a Developer Apprentice at Alaska Airlines from February 2019 to July 2019 and as an iOS Developer Apprentice at Nordstrom from August 2018 to January 2019. Kate also attended Ada Developers Academy as a student, where they acquired full-stack web development skills from January 2018 to January 2019. Before their career in tech, Kate was a small business owner at The Pond's Edge LLC, specializing in providing HTML email and web development services. Additionally, they worked as a Front-End Developer at meltmedia from August 2015 to December 2017. Prior to that, they held different roles in interpretation and education departments at Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority and Desert Botanical Garden. Kate Pond has a Bachelor of Natural Resources Management degree in Plant, Animal, and Soil Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Kate obtained this degree between the years 2001 and 2005. Kate furthered their education by pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Education from Griffith University between the years 2006 and 2007. In addition to their degrees, Kate has certifications as a Certified Interpretive Guide from the National Association for Interpretation and as a Git Real from Code School.
