Terry Young

Terry Young has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Terry is currently serving as the Director Of Information Technology at Openly since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Information Technology Contractor at JCS Carrillo from November 2020 to January 2022, where they played a key role in setting up the school on G-Suite for Education and collaborated with Google to ensure compliance with educational requirements.

From October 2018 to August 2020, Terry held the position of Senior Manager Technical Operations at Twilio Inc. Their responsibilities included overseeing global teams such as International Technical Operations, Systems Operations, Network Operations, IT Procurement, AV, and Help Desk. Terry also focused on long-range planning, forecasting future business plans, and enhancing transparency across teams.

Before joining Twilio Inc., Terry worked as an Independent Consultant at Generate Capital Inc. from January 2018 to September 2018. During this project, they successfully migrated the company's Microsoft Dynamics NAV installation to a cloud offering and implemented various IT infrastructure improvements.

From August 2017 to December 2017, Terry served as the Sr. Project Manager at GAP, where they managed the Microsoft vNext cloud migration project by coordinating phases and collaborating with team members across the organization.

Terry has also held significant IT leadership roles, including IT Director at Sungevity from September 2015 to June 2017, where they supervised IT operations supporting Production Operations and Corporate IT across multiple locations. Terry was responsible for managing teams in Network Engineering and Security, Telecommunications, Platform Services, Desktop Support, and Technical Project Management.

From November 2010 to September 2015, Terry worked as the IT Director at CSDA Design Group. Here, they led a complete transformation and modernization of the IT department, managing aspects such as staffing, infrastructure upgrades, budget forecasting, strategic planning, and project management.

Earlier in their career, Terry held various IT leadership roles at Convention Management Resources (CMR), 24hourtek, Inc, and San Francisco Opera, where they demonstrated their expertise and made valuable contributions in IT services and support.

Overall, Terry Young has accumulated extensive experience in IT management, including project management, cloud migration, team leadership, strategic planning, and infrastructure optimization.

Terry Young obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Music from Michigan State University, where they attended from 1980 to 1982. In terms of additional certifications, Terry obtained the Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Elementary (Estimated) certification from Duolingo in January and February of 2017.
