Roman Samarev

Roman Samarev has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Roman is currently the Director of Engineering / Data Science at OpenSesame since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as an Associate Professor / Dozent at Bauman Moscow State Technical University from September 2008 to June 2023, where they taught and conducted seminars on computer systems and networks and internet programming languages.

Roman also worked as the Chief Research Officer / Development Officer at dotin Inc. from April 2016 to January 2022. Roman was responsible for research and development activities. Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at Technische Universität Berlin in March 2016, focusing on streaming processing of big data.

Further back in their career, Roman served as the Head of Department of System Architectures and Software Technologies at All-Union Institute of Fiber Optic Communication Systems and Information Processing, ZAO from February 2011 to June 2015. Roman was also a Senior Software Engineer at Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Concern "Systemprom"" from March 2008 to January 2011, where they managed software development projects and contributed to C++ and Java development.

Earlier in their career, Roman worked at Bauman Moscow State Technical University as a Junior Scientist from December 2006 to February 2008 and as an Engineer from October 2005 to November 2006. Roman participated in research projects and developed SNMP-based GUI management systems for network devices.

Before their tenure at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Roman worked at Scientific Manufacturing Center "INTELTEC PLUS" as a Senior Developer / C++ Entwickler from August 1999 to February 2008. Roman was involved in the development of special purpose IRS based on ODB-Text "Mass Media Review" and managed the development of object database management systems. Roman also worked as a C++ Developer from February 1997 to July 1999.

Roman Samarev received their education at Bauman Moscow State Technical University. From 1995 to 2002, they pursued a degree in computer systems and networks and graduated as a development engineer. In 2007, they furthered their education by pursuing a Ph.D. in methods and models of parallel DBMS designing, also at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
