Alina Slavik has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Alina started their career as a Fellowship Intern at the Silver Eye Center for Photography in 2007. In 2008, they joined ARAMARK as a Barista and Closing Manager at Starbucks, a role they held until 2011. In 2009, they briefly worked as a Membership Coordinator at College Houses Cooperatives.
In 2011, Alina took on the role of Assistant at The Weddington Center, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they also started Alina Slavik Academic Services, where they served as a Tutor/Owner until 2014. In 2012, they joined 3Play Media as an Editor, a position they held until 2014.
In 2013, Alina worked as a Development & Communications Manager at Hope Stone, Inc. Their next career move was to OpenStax, Rice University, where they held several positions. Alina started as a Digital Media Specialist in 2014 and progressed to roles such as Assistant Director, Associate Director, and eventually Director of Content Development.
Overall, Alina Slavik has gained a wide range of experiences in content development, communications, management, and tutoring throughout their career.
Alina Slavik completed their high school education in Vocal Music at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in Houston, Texas from 2003 to 2007. Alina then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in French and Italian at The University of Texas at Austin from 2008 to 2011.
During their undergraduate studies, Alina Slavik also spent a year at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in 2009-2010, where they focused on French and Italian studies.
Before attending university, Alina Slavik briefly studied Voice Performance at Carnegie Mellon University from 2007 to 2008.
In terms of additional certifications, Alina Slavik obtained a certification in Digital Product Management: Modern Fundamentals from Coursera in December 2018. The institution where they obtained this certification was Coursera.
