Peter Moegenburg has a strong background in engineering, with experience in embedded software, automation and control design, robotics, and research. Peter is currently working as an Embedded Software Engineer at Opentrons Labworks Inc. Since joining the company in June 2021, they have been involved in developing and implementing software solutions for scientific robots. Prior to that, Peter worked at Sensata Technologies as an Automation and Control Design Engineer from December 2019 to May 2021. In this role, they contributed to the design and development of automated systems for various applications. Before that, they served as an R&D Engineer at Heraeus Electro Nite, where they focused on robotics from July 2018 to October 2019. Peter's passion for human-robot interaction led him to work as a Research Assistant at the Cornell University Human-Robot Collaboration and Companionship Lab from August 2017 to January 2018. There, they worked on a social robot named Yolo, which aimed to enhance human creativity and imagination. Additionally, Peter gained practical experience through engineering internships at Spectrum Brands, Inc, Wisconsin Metal Parts, Inc, Alion Science and Technology, and E.R. Wagner Manufacturing Company.
Peter Moegenburg received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, where they studied from 2011 to 2016. Peter then pursued further education at Cornell University, obtaining a Masters of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Robotics in 2017. Prior to their college education, Peter attended Marquette University High School from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Solidworks Flow Simulation in July 2016 and became a Level II Instructor from US Sailing in June 2012.
