Laura Canning

Laura Canning is an experienced arts administrator currently serving as General Director and CEO at Opera North since December 2023. Previously, Laura held the position of Director of Artistic Administration at Garsington Opera from January 2015 to September 2023, and served as Studio Director at Houston Grand Opera from August 2008 to December 2014, where Laura led a prominent young artist program and established the Young Artists' Vocal Academy for undergraduate singers. Laura Canning earned a Master of Arts in Linguistics from Trinity College Cambridge, completing the degree in June 1995.
