Peng Tan

Peng Tan is a Senior Principal Researcher at OPPO, focusing on 3GPP standard development in the areas of SA1, SA2, and SA4 within the realms of 5G-Advanced and 6G since 2023. Prior to this role, Tan served as Principal Technology Architect at TELUS from December 2006 to January 2023, leading the design and integration of end-to-end 4G/5G wireless networks, including fixed wireless access, and collaborated with major Canadian universities and research institutes on wireless and wireline communications technologies. Key contributions include spearheading the development of pioneering UHD 4K streaming solutions and representing TELUS in various industry organizations. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Broadband Wireless Communications from the University of Alberta and advanced degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Wireless Communications from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Xi'an Jiaotong University, respectively.
