Alex Flachsbart has worked for a variety of organizations since 2007. Alex's first job was as a Campus Campaign Coordinator for Teach For America in 2007. Alex then worked as a Summer Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives in the same year. In 2008, they worked as an O'Connor-Snyder Intern for the David Mathews Center for Civic Life, a Teaching Assistant for the University of Alabama, and a Research Intern for the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. In 2009, they were a Summer Associate for Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP and Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. In 2015, they became an Associate for Balch & Bingham LLP. Most recently, they have been the President & CEO of Opportunity Alabama since 2018.
Alex Flachsbart received a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Washington and Lee University between 2012 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from The University of Alabama in 2009-2010. Alex also earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics and Political Science from The University of Alabama between 2005 and 2009. Alex Flachsbart's educational history began at De La Salle High School, where they attended from 2001 to 2005.
