Jim Kalb has over 30 years of experience in the electronics and transportation industries. Jim started their career in 1983 as an Engineer at Integrated Microwave Corporation. Jim then moved to Topaz / Square D by Schneider Electric in 1985 as an International Sales Engineer. In 1987, Jim became a Sales Engineer at Eaton Bussmann. In 1991, they founded Triad Components Group, Vortex Technologies (VTI), and Basic Power Manufacturing & Engineering. In 2000, they founded OptiFuse and in 2019, they founded Switch Components. In 1996, Jim was President of the San Diego Chapter of EO. In 2017, Triad Components Group was selected as one of Forbes Magazine's 25 Best Small Companies in America.
Jim Kalb received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from San Diego State University between 1979 and 1985, specializing in VLSI design. Jim later attended the MIT Sloan School of Management and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies between 1999 and 2003. Jim also attended Crestmoor High.
