Shea Newton

Shea Newton has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. They started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Idaho, where they focused on optimizing compilers and language development. They then moved on to PolySync, working as a Software Engineering / System Programming Intern and later as a Software Engineer and Client Services Engineer. At PolySync, Shea developed custom engineering applications and worked on automotive hardware drivers. They then joined ActiveState as a Software Developer and later became a Developer Advocate. In these roles, Shea contributed to open-source projects and engaged with customers. Most recently, Shea worked at enfuse.io as a Senior Big Data Software Engineer. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Engineer + Cloud Architect at Optimism.

Shea Newton earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, graduating in 2015. Prior to that, Shea obtained a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Oregon, completing the program in 2006. In addition, Shea obtained a certification in Automotive Functional Safety Professional from SGS-TÜV Saar in December 2018.
