Douglas House has an extensive and diverse work experience. Douglas currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services. Prior to this, they held several roles at Springs Charter Schools, including Asst. Superintendent of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources. Douglas has also held leadership positions at Catholic Charities San Bernardino & Riverside Counties as the Chief Operating Officer, Victor Treatment Centers & North Valley Schools as the Executive Director, and Loma Linda University Health Services as the Compliance Project Leader. Additionally, they have served on the board of Inland Empire SHRM Chapter and has a military background, serving as a Combat Engineer & Military Policeman in the United States Army Reserve.

Douglas House completed their Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology from Anderson University, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Douglas then pursued a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist College, attending from 1997 to 1998. In 2007, they enrolled in graduate study for Quality Assurance at California State University-Dominguez Hills, which they completed in 2009.

In addition to their academic education, Douglas House has obtained multiple certifications throughout their career. Douglas became a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute in December 2014. Subsequently, in January 2015, they achieved the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification from the same institution. Later that year, they obtained the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation from SHRM.

Douglas House continued to enhance their professional credentials by obtaining the Professional in Human Resources California (PHR-CA) certification in November 2016, which is specific to California labor laws. In April 2018, they obtained the CSRM - Certified School Risk Manager certification from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Most recently, in November 2019, they completed the SHRM - Veterans at Work Certification program offered by SHRM, demonstrating their knowledge and skills in supporting veterans in the workplace.
