Marko Šatrak

Marko Šatrak has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marko is currently working as a Product Manager at OptimoRoute since 2023. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the Director at 8 Sigma starting from 2015. In this role, they were responsible for managing the product development of MES software based on ANSI/ISA-95 standard.

Before joining 8 Sigma, Marko worked at ABB for a significant period of time. From 2013 to 2015, they held the positions of CPM Engineering Manager & CPM Operations Manager, where they led the software development department and managed MES projects within the ABB Industry Solutions group. Marko also continued to serve as the engineering leader for the Level 3 project in the Aluminium Rolling Mill Complex of Ma’aden & Alcoa in Saudi Arabia.

Marko also worked as a Global Product Manager for CPM4Metals (MES/Level 3) at ABB from 2012 to 2013. Marko was responsible for the design and architecture of the CPM4Metals product, which was a solution based on the ISA 95 standard and various technologies including .NET Framework 4.0, Silverlight, RIA, and NHibernate.

Prior to ABB, Marko gained experience at Exor as a Program Manager from 2009 to 2010, where they led the MES software development department. Marko was also involved in software architecture and database design for the new MES platform. Previously, they worked as a Software Engineer at Exor from 2005 to 2008, focusing on MES software design and development using Microsoft C# .NET Framework and Oracle database.

Marko's career began at IN2, where they worked as a Software Engineer from 2003 to 2005. Here, they contributed to the development of ERP software modules for financial business and accounting, primarily using Oracle technologies. Marko also briefly worked on Oracle EBS.

Marko's early work experience includes serving as an ITS permanent associate at CARNet from 2001 to 2002.

Marko Šatrak began their education in 1993 at V. gymnasium in Zagreb, Croatia, where they studied mathematical subjects. Marko completed high school in 1997. Following this, they attended the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb from 1997 to 2002. During their time at FER, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree with a specialization in computing. Additionally, in the year 2000 to 2001, they enrolled in a German language course at the School of foreign languages "SC" in Cvjetno naselje, Zagreb. No degree name was specified for this language course.
