Robotics Software Engineer, Motion Planning at Optimus Ride

Alamelu Thinnappan has had a diverse range of experiences in the field of robotics. In 2018, they worked as a Path Planning Robotics Intern at Bosch USA for a period of one month. Alamelu then joined the University of Pennsylvania in 2017 as a Research Assistant, where they focused on Automatic Trajectory Generation and Control for Robots using Linear Temporal Logic. Alamelu worked under Dr. Cynthia Sung at the GRASP Lab and continued in this position until May 2020. Most recently, Alamelu joined Optimus Ride in 2019 as a Robotics Software Engineer, specifically in the field of Motion Planning.

Alamelu Thinnappan pursued their undergraduate education at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli from the year 2013 to 2017. During this period, they obtained an Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, from 2017 to 2019, they attended the University of Pennsylvania, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
