James Griffin, CFA

James Griffin, CFA has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. James began their career in 1995 as a Senior Financial Analyst at Freddie Mac. In 1997, they joined Dynex Capital as a Vice President - Portfolio Manager, where they purchased, securitized and traded a variety of residential mortgage, commercial mortgage and consumer loans for REIT operations. From 2000 to 2009, they held various roles at Countrywide Securities Corp, Banc Of Manhattan/Capital, and Wells Fargo Securities, including Executive Vice President - Head Trader, Director - Trader, and Co-Head of the Non-Agency MBS Trading Desk. In 2012, they joined Illumination Asset Management as Managing Director, where they researched, analyzed and sourced investment opportunities for the Credit Opportunities Fund. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at PennyMac Loan Services, LLC as Managing Director - Portfolio Investments, Executive Vice President, and Executive Vice President. Most recently, they held the role of President at Optionwide Financial Corporation.

James Griffin, CFA obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from Hofstra University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from William & Mary's Raymond A. Mason School of Business. James also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
