Gonzalo Muyo

Gonzalo Muyo has a total work experience of around 19 years. Gonzalo began their career in 2002 as a Researcher at QinetiQ during their industrial placement while pursuing their MSc in Applied and Modern Optics at the University of Reading.

From 2007 to 2009, Muyo worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University.

In 2010, they joined Qioptiq as an Optical Physicist (KTP Associate) and worked there until 2011.

From 2011 onwards, Muyo has been associated with Optos. Gonzalo started as a Senior Optical Research Engineer and worked in this role until 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Principal Research Engineer in the field of optics. In 2017, their role changed to Engineering Manager - Optical Systems, and in 2019, they were promoted to Senior Engineering Manager - Optomechanics.

Overall, Muyo has a strong background in optical research, engineering management, and optomechanics gained through their various roles in both academic and industrial settings.

Gonzalo Muyo completed their MPhys in Physics at Universidad de Valladolid from 1995 to 2001. During their undergraduate years, they also studied at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III for a year, from 1998 to 1999.

Subsequently, they pursued an MSc in Applied and Modern Optics at the University of Reading, from 2001 to 2002.

Later, Gonzalo Muyo attended Heriot-Watt University, where they obtained a PhD in Optics. Gonzalo worked towards this degree from 2003 to 2007.
