Richard Reed's work experience begins in 2005 when they served as the EVP Business Operations at Mobile Content Networks, where they led operations, finance, and talent development for a B2B mobile search startup. During their time there, they successfully completed significant venture/debt financing and created an analytics system that drove high mobile search ad revenue.
From 2011 to 2014, Reed worked as the Chief Operating Officer at OPT SEA PTE LTD, where they closed a joint venture deal for B2B mobile services in Southeast Asia and led the growth, partnerships, operations, finance, and recruiting. Richard also spearheaded an initiative with the Thai Board of Investment Authority, resulting in a five-year corporate tax-free award.
Reed then joined TrendLife as the Chief Operating Officer from 2014 to 2016, where they led the formation and financing of a multi-country personal care eCommerce brand. Richard successfully launched various sales channels, including an e-commerce platform, marketplace, Facebook, and retail sales, and implemented an analytics system that drove a multi-channel growth strategy.
In their role as a Startup Growth Consultant at Richard Reed Consulting from 2016 to 2018, Reed built growth strategies for multiple startups in various industries. Richard achieved significant results, such as doubling revenue for an eCommerce health and wellness startup, achieving critical mass for a career mentorship marketplace startup, and leading the formation, financing, and recruitment for a B2C education startup.
Reed then took on the position of President & Head Of Operations at Drivezy from 2019 to 2020, where they were recruited by the CEO to launch their US services. Richard successfully implemented a lean management methodology and developed a US business plan and financial model, positioning the company as a disruptive new entrant in the market.
Currently, Reed is the COO at Opu Labs, Inc., a position they have held since 2020. During the pandemic, they launched a global medical device sales division, scaled it to seven-figure revenue in the first year, and built a multi-country, direct-to-manufacturer medical device supply chain network. Richard also optimized a team across Asia and the USA to meet unprecedented customer volume and fulfillment needs for medical devices.
Richard Reed holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in History from Trinity College-Hartford. Richard also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the Faculty of Modern History from the University of Oxford. No specific start or end years are provided for their education.
