Ivan Bassov

Ivan Bassov is a highly experienced technology professional with over 25 years in the industry, excelling in software engineering and technical leadership. At Oracle, Ivan held the position of Principal Member of Technical Staff, contributing to the Finest File System in the West (FFSW) and developing a fully managed relational database engine compatible with MySQL and PostgreSQL. Prior to Oracle, Ivan spent more than two decades at Dell EMC, where responsibilities included work on IO path, File System, Block Storage, and performance improvement. Early career roles included positions at the University of Haifa and Rybinsk State Aviation Technological Academy, with a focus on technical support and departmental computing needs. Ivan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Computer Science from National University and is currently studying at the University of Nicosia.
