Abigail Gillis

Abigail Gillis is a dedicated school social worker currently employed at Orange County Schools since August 2024. Previous experience includes roles as a social work intern at Student U and Orange County Schools, where important skills in social work were developed. Prior to these internships, Abigail served as a support teacher at Primrose Schools and held various positions during university, including Bonner Intern at Campus Y at UNC-Chapel Hill and youth program coordinator intern at Volunteers for Youth. Abigail's educational background includes a Master of Social Work with a focus on School Social Work, and two Bachelor's degrees in Human Development and Family Studies and History, all obtained from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Academic achievement was complemented by an early education at Midway High School, where Abigail earned a high school diploma.
