Darren Dang's work experience includes various roles in different companies. Darren started their career as a Senior Program Manager at Texas Instruments, where they were responsible for launching several products. Darren then moved on to work as an Account Executive at Wistron, focusing on strategic engagements and client relationship management.
After that, Darren worked as a Vice President at KAREN HILL-SCOTT & COMPANY, a consulting firm specializing in education and entertainment. Darren also served as an Administrator and Director at the Orange County Department of Education, providing financial support to school districts and overseeing fiscal matters.
Darren then joined the Anaheim Elementary School District, where they held the position of Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services. In this role, they were in charge of financials, budgeting, contracts, and other administrative functions. Darren also implemented STEM and robotics programs for underprivileged students.
Currently, Darren is the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer at the Orange County Superior Court. In this position, they oversee finance, accounting, budget planning, procurement, and facilities management for one of the largest state trial courts in California. Darren is also leading the data and analytics workstream for the court and promoting the use of business intelligence and machine learning.
Throughout their career, Darren has demonstrated their expertise in finance, operations, and education. Darren has a strong track record of implementing successful programs and managing significant budgets.
Darren Dang pursued their education in a chronological order starting with an Associate's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Orange Coast College, which they obtained from 1988 to 1990. Darren then attended Caltech from 1990 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Applied Science. Following this, Darren went on to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1993 to 1996, obtaining a Master's Degree in Engineering and Computer Science.
In 2001, Darren enrolled in the UCLA Anderson School of Management, earning their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship and Finance, which they completed in 2003.
In terms of additional certifications, Darren obtained a Tableau Executive Sponsor certification from Tableau Software in November 2019. Before that, in August 2018, they earned a Business Analytics: From Data to Insights certification from Wharton Executive Education. Lastly, in August 2012, Darren achieved the Chief Business Official certification from the California Association of School Business Officials.
