Keith Pilat has extensive experience in the criminal justice field, currently serving as the Manager of the Pretrial Service Unit at Orange County Superior Court since December 2015. Prior to this role, Keith worked as an Assistant Manager and Pre-Trial Services Officer, contributing to the impartial screening of defendants before their initial court appearances. From February 2012 to December 2015, Keith served as an Investigator at Heiting & Irwin, Attorneys at Law, where the focus was on representing clients in complex legal cases resulting in significant financial awards. Keith's career in law enforcement spans nearly two decades at the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, starting as a Deputy Sheriff and ultimately rising to the rank of Sergeant, overseeing various assignments within the Corrections Division and Administration. Education includes a Certificate in Criminal Justice from Riverside Community College and a P.O.S.T. Certificate from the Sheriff's Academy.

Orange County Superior Court

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange, is the fifth largest trial court in the nation. The Court handles over 500,000 annual case filings and serves the County’s population, which exceeds 3 million. The Court operates five justice centers, in eight locations throughout Orange County, and handles all types of state cases including civil, criminal, traffic, family, juvenile, and probate. We have over 140 judicial officer positions and employ over 1500 people in more than 70 different job classifications to perform a wide range of functions including accounting, office and courtroom support, computer programming and system support, legal research, family mediation services, and administrative management.
