Gastón Marrero

Gastón Marrero has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Gastón is currently working as the Head of Technology at OrangeLoops since December 2021. Previously, from 2018 to 2021, Gastón worked at Overactive, where they held various roles. Gastón started as a Technical Director and also worked as an AWS & Azure Cloud Certifications Mentor and an Enlace+ Technical Leader & Azure Cloud Architect.

Prior to that, Gastón served as the CTO of Competir, an Edutech Company, from 2016 to 2018. During their time there, they developed white label mobile products, created the technological basis for the "Learning 1 to 1" platform, and collaborated with Telefónica for co-promotion and SMS payments.

From 2013 to 2018, Gastón held the position of CTO & AWS Cloud Architect at KidBox, a startup focused on designing online educational experiences for children. In this role, they actively participated in product development and management, as well as leading a team of 8 people.

Gastón also has experience as the Founder & CEO of Cartapad, a multiplatform tool for creating interactive catalogs, from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they worked at Atos as a Solutions Architect from 2007 to 2011, where they were responsible for designing and maintaining the Enterprise Service Bus.

Before Atos, Gastón co-founded EnElEmbarazo.com, a medical portal, and worked as a Co-Founder from 2000 to 2010. Gastón also worked at Infocorp as a Solutions Architect, Product Manager, and Full Stack Engineer, contributing to various projects and products from 2003 to 2007.

Gastón's early career includes working as a Full Stack Engineer at HG S.A. on government projects from 2001 to 2003, and as a co-founder and web developer at kinta dimensión | multimedia from 1999 to 2003.

Throughout their career, Gastón has demonstrated expertise in technology leadership, cloud architecture, product development, and platform design.

Gastón Marrero attended the Universidad de la República from 1995 to 2006, where they obtained a degree in Analista en Computación. In 2012, they briefly enrolled in the Programa de Gerencia Comercial at ORT, although the specific degree and field of study are not provided.
